I have a very limited knowledge of Korean and share words here which I think useful and/or obscure. This list is pertinent to my personal life in Korea. These words are often absent from dictionaries or are misleading or incorrect. If you spot an error or can add to the compilation, please send a comment to that effect. All words entered are filed under the ‘category label,’ ‘Interlude.

| 놀토 | Saturday | ‘Play Saturday’ -Saturdays when there is no State school. | 2 |
| 청량고추 | chili, green | Very hot, medium to small size green chili | 3 |
| 수능 | Final high school exams | Used for entry into universities | 4 |
| 오이고추 | ‘Cucumber’ chili | Mildest of all Korean chillies. | 5 |
| 대박 | The jackpot, strike gold | Encouragement to do well | 6 |
| 샘 | Closest might be ‘Mr,’ ‘Mrs’ or ‘Miss,’ but this is a little too formal. | A reduction of ‘teacher,‘(선생님). | 7 |
| 포장마차 | A tent in which snacks and alcohol is sold | Sometimes these are tethered on the back or side of a small van. They range from small to large. | 8 |
| 딸딸이 | Masturbating, wanking | A very taboo word that should be used with caution | 9 |

As someone permanently struggling with Korean these are my notes on words and phrases I find useful and which are usually not in a dictionary. Any amendments, recommendations or errors, please let me know.
